The Department of Islamic Studies at Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University, Patna, came into existence in 2014. It is an esteemed center for higher education focusing on the rich and diverse traditions of Islamic thought, history, culture and philosophy. The Department is dedicated to promoting an understanding of Islam in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University was established with the objective of preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Arabic and Persian literatures, with a special emphasis on the academic study of Islamic culture and civilization. The University, named after the renowned freedom fighter and scholar Maulana Mazharul Haque, has grown to become a prominent institution of learning in the region.
