Vision:

To provide Quality education of Urdu as a cultural heritage of India and produce standard research works through its post graduate Department. Excellence is the most prominent word for us.

Mission:

The ultimate goal and mission of the Department is to prepare useful and responsible citizens for the country who contribute more and more for the society on the one hand and Urdu language and literature on the other hand for this implementation of the guidelines given in NEP are also important along with the requirements of Urdu world. We also aim at establishing good rapport with other languages like Hindi, English Arabic & Persian to inrich us. Overall the mission is hard but achievable.

Introduction:

The Department was established in 2014-2015 from the very begning of the P.G teaching in this university when it was granted permission by the Govt. to run the University office in Haj bhawan Patna. There after it shifted to the present University Campus at Mithapur, Patna. In the begning the teaching was limited to B.A(Hons) level but now P.G & PH.D Programme are also running. The Pattern of new Education Policy 2020 is strictly followed and semester system is adopted like other universities of Patna.

There are fourty seats in M.A and Eight seats in Ph.D programme(Urdu) Which are filled as per University norms.

There are four sanctioned posts of Assistant Professor, two Associates and one university professor presently

There are only two working hands which are as follows.

• Dr. Zarnigar yasmeen (Head Dept of Urdu.)
• Dr. Tauqeer Alam (Dept of Urdu)

Expectation:

We hope that the Education Dept Bihar Govt. Of India other institution with the same aims and objective and our old students will come forward to help us in turning our vision into reality work with sincerely is one sentence which we want to follow.
