INTRODUCTION

Located at an easily accessible central location in the capital city of Bihar, the PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University is committed to serve the state of Bihar by providing world class teaching, training and research; thus preparing students to take on the challenges of a highly competitive world. At present, it is probably the only University in the State to have three permanent faculty members in the Mass Communication Department, who have joined here after a wide range of experience in the Media Industry and academia. The school strives to adapt to changes in the profession, to respond to new developments in the way news is delivered and to prepare students to work in different environments. The coursework and syllabi are regularly updated to be in tune with the latest industry trends.

Our AIM

The department was introduced with an aim to create the next generation of content creators and brand managers to succeed in today’s highly competitive and rapidly changing media landscape. The department prepares the students to perform a vital and challenging function of searching for the truth in complicated situations, usually under a time constraint, and communicating it in a clear, engaging manner to the public through its Journalism Course.

We also prepare the students in various allied professional streams such as Media Management, Advertising, Online Communication, Public Relations, Radio Jockeying, Web Reporting and Graphic Design etc. In addition, the school educates scholars of Communication and Journalism, and functions as a significant guiding force In Journalism and inculcates in students the habit of thinking of themselves as leaders for change and improvement in the profession.

We strive towards becoming an Institute of Academic Excellence with total commitment to quality education and research in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication with an aim to develop training programmes and lectures tailored to meet the needs of students from remote parts of Bihar, belonging to different social, cultural and economic strata, language constraints and other barriers.

Our vision is to become a world class institution while promoting the philosophy of nationalism, pluralism and use of education to serve the nation in dealing with new and emerging challenges.

This will hone their potential for assuming leadership roles in diverse fields of the society.
