Q 1.  What are the functions of KRC ?

Ans- KRC will provide facilities like classroom teaching, conduct of practical classes including facilities for Library, Laboratories, Common rooms and remedial classes, if so required.

All Admission & Examination forms will be received through KRCs and they will maintain all the necessary records both in hard copy and in electronic storage devices.

KRCs will submit progress report regarding teaching and other activities. University will closely supervise their functioning.

Q 2. What is the legal status of KRC ?

Ans- Bihar State University Act 1976 under the provision of the Section -4(18) provides that the University may conduct Centralised undergraduate teaching by using infrastructure facilities of a College (Educational Institutions). Section-4 (22) provides for the University the do all such acts to further the University as teaching and examining body. KRC is set up under this provision to increase the access and inclusion of disadvantaged group of students and also increase its outreach within its defined jurisdiction for teaching and examinations work. Q 3. Is Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC) same as study centre of an Open University / is it a Franchisee ?

Ans-  It is neither a mere study centre nor a franchisee. MMHAPU establishes KRC in areas where there is high concentration of disadvantaged groups and where these groups have limited access or.scope of inclusion in the mainstream higher education. For ensuring greater access and inclusion of these students KRC is established in resource rich Institutions having adequate infrastructure and experience in the area of imparting higher education.

Q.4. Can a student shift from one centre to another centre?

Ans- Yes, a student if so desires get himself/herself transferred to any other KRC maintained by the University in the State. However he will have to pay a prescribed fee for centre transfer.

Q.5. How teaching will be imparted at the KRCN ?

Ans. Regular class room teaching will be conducted and student participation will be encouraged. Students will be provided adequate time on Computer Lab or other such equipments as per requirement of the course. Use of modern educational and methodologies will be encouraged at KRCN. Teaching & Practical classes will be conducted by adequately qualified teachers engaged on Contract/Course contract or regular basis.
